My passion for education was driven by incredible teachers during my early education. I aspire to become an educator that will impact students' lives. Education allows individuals to cross boundaries, furthermore, create worlds. A passionate teacher will ensure all his/her students believe anything is possible and all goals are achievable. Students need to be encouraged to pursue their dreams and abstain from conforming to social expectations and limitations. As an educator is essential to recognize that students hold the power to their knowledge, and teachers are simply vessels. As I complete my teaching certificate, I have come across interesting learning theories; the theory that resonated with me the most is teaching under the principle of a growth-mindset. Additionally, I abide to the ideals of constructivism, productive failure, cooperative and collaborative learning, and responsive teaching. I want to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, empowered, and ambitious to take on leading roles. I also believe students should be placed in situations they may encounter in the real world, starting with colleague collaboration. Cooperative and collaborative learning is an approach that will allow students to exchange ideas and learn from each other. I wish to become an educator that drives student through a journey of self-discovery, where they can learn their passions, develop skills, and recognize their potential.
